SendMeta.presentation=progress lets adapters translate plain progress text to native formatting. Matrix renders escaped italic HTML with plain fallback; chunk budget accounts for presentation. Normal Markdown replies unchanged. 288 tests/typecheck/build pass. Review passed; existing nonblocking P2 gateway-overlay-drops-channel-defaults retained for layered-settings follow-up.
